First, never let negative advice bother you. If a security guard’s wife complains about being a night guard, inform her that it is not your fault and then inform her that she should go talk to her husband about it. The security guard job is stressful enough without adding more stress to an already challenging situation. If a security guard’s boss makes some disparaging remarks about him, simply dismiss them. You might need to put some distance between you two, but it’s important that she is not able to contact you again.

Most individuals do not realize that how you think is also the way that you act. If you start to eliminate the things in your life which aren’t worth you doing, you will begin to notice that you have less stress. This is because you are getting to be someone who is organized, functional, and effective. When you think in those terms, you will not be wondering why you are not having as much fun at your job as you did. Most security guard jobs require you to be on your feet all day long, sometimes for extended periods at a time. If you work in an office building, it’s important that you are comfortable with your legs. Dress well so that they do not hurt. Shoes and socks should be worn when working, no matter where you are working. If you can, try to find a good closet that enables you more space so that you can change your outfit easily without getting up.

When you are thinking positively, you will find that you’re happier and healthier. When you’re thinking negatively, you tend to have more health issues. This is because negative thoughts tend to drain you of energy, which leads to you becoming angry and depressed. Instead, change your way of thinking to one of optimism. Think positively about your job and you will find that it gets done better.

These are only a couple of ways you could change the way you consider your security guard job. Change the way you think about anything that has to do with your work performance and you’ll see the difference in your attitude and your own performance.
